Center for Literacy offers English classes for three different levels – beginning, intermediate, and advanced. These classes help students improve their English while learning about U.S culture, daily life, civics, and history. We offer classes in Old City at 399 Market Street, Suite 201 (4th and Market Street), at Free Library sites throughout Philadelphia neighborhoods (South Philadelphia, Northeast Philadelphia, North Philadelphia, etc.), at Southwest Community Development Corporation and at Community College of Philadelphia West.
Center for Literacy also has advanced level English classes for students interested in attending college or university in the U.S. These classes offer academic reading, writing, speaking, and listening practice for students. Additionally, we have an advanced level English class for students who want to improve their English skills for working in the U.S. These classes focus on the job application process, such as writing resumes and interviewing, as well as focusing on the language and cultural skills needed to be successful in a job. These advanced level English classes take place in Old City at 399 Market St, Suite 201 (4th and Market).
